For now, the Admiral's website will remain online for those who are interested in reading his thoughts on a wide range of topics - some personal, some political, some historical. Click on the "Tributes" button at left to read reflections offered at the Admira's memorial service. The home page begins immediately following this message.

On 5 SEP 2006, I lost a Republican Primary election for the U.S. Senate in my home state of Florida. I am disappointed not to have won the primary, but more disappointed that there was only a 20% voter turnout, a record low.
Since I care deeply about the issues of our times, I plan to continue this website so long as I have something to say. Your commentaries are likely to determine whether what I have to say is worthwhile to others. I invite your comments under the "Contact me" tab. Welcome to LeRoy's Blog!
The nation needs stronger
leadership in Washington
I am a fifth-generation Floridian from a family dedicated to public service. As a U.S. Naval Academy graduate (1956), I served in the Navy and Navy Reserve (submarines) for 34 years, retiring as a two-star Admiral. My civilian careers in high-tech financial services and real estate have spanned 36 years. With major threats to Americans worldwide now, I want to help Florida and America through these challenges.
With over 1000 people a day moving to Florida, our population ranks 4th in the nation (soon to pass New York as No. 3). In 2004, 76.8 million people visited Florida, contributing $52 billion to our State¡¯s economy. The U.S. military added another $44 billion, and we lead the Southeast in farm income.
Our State is changing quickly and becoming more influential every year. Many of the issues we confront, from this rapid growth cannot be resolved in Tallahassee. We need members of Congress who understand these challenges and will serve Florida and our country with dedication and personal determination, i.e....with LEADERSHIP.
